This morning we got up and fixed oatmeal for breakfast and did the dishes before I got ready to go skating at 11:00. Christine and Carol were there but not Brett and I didn’t leave a note for it either. So we skated and Darlin fell a couple of times on her double salchow and in front of the kids from cottonwood too. But then she landed it and for Stu too. So we came home and Kiel, Adam and Lisa were there and I fixed clam chowder. Then we packed and left by 4:00 but then went to the bank and computer store so were on the road by 5:30 to Sun Valley! We ate at McDonald’s in Burley and checked in at the Limelight Apartments at 11:00. We are in 201, right next door to Stephanie. So we got all settled and unpacked and said good night to everyone. Especially to Mommy and the little princess (Darlin!). Love,

Today Mommy came in and kissed us good morning and asked how we slept. And I slept so well. Then we got up and started getting ready and making up beds. Then Dad came home with the stuff Mom had sent him to the store for. I wore my plaid skirt and we had peaches ‘n’ cream, toast and juice for breakfast and everyone else ate corn flakes. Then Darlin skated both practice session’s at 9:30 and 10:30 and did really good and landed all her double jumps. Then we went to Atkinson’s and got all kinds of good stuff to eat and came home to fix sloppy joes and went swimming in Sheri’s leotard because I forgot my swimsuit. So anyway, we swam and went in the sauna and had ice cream and peaches. Then Mommy colored my hair and we all got ready and rested. Then we had Hawaiian chicken for dinner and invited Steph but she didn’t come. Then we skated from 8:30 – 10:00 and had lots of fun. Will and a whole bunch of other guys were there too! We came home and had peaches and went to bed. Love,

Hot, Sunny 91
Today we had oatmeal, toast and juice for breakfast and I half-way did the dishes before I got ready in my coral sweater and white shorts to go to Darlin’s session at 10:30. She did really good too and landed most of her double salchows and all her axel-double toes. Then we waited to have her skates sharpened at 12:15 or so and then went home after the grocery store and Dad finally got the car washed after 3 times yesterday trying to get an appointment. So we came home and had yummy Hawaiian chicken leftovers for lunch did dishes and skated the 2:30 public. It was lots of fun but hot and this girl we met last time named Jamie, that’s the same age as me, 15, introduced me to a kind of cute guy named Mikey. So, anyway we skated and came home for Darlin to take a nap and we went to the store and Jane’s paper place again. Came home and fixed ham for dinner and then Darlin skated with Steph but we didn’t skate. Came home and had ice cream with Mommy. Love,

Today when I got up Mommy was making potatoes for breakfast and so I helped with the eggs, toast, and o.j. and set the table. Then we ate and I did dishes before I got ready in a hurry because Darlin’s practice was at 10:00. She wasn’t landing any at first. Piper was on the ice. Then Darlin decided she remembered how to land some jumps and Steph and Mom were helping her because Stu still isn’t here yet. So she practiced and we stayed for the 2:30 public and Dad videoed her landing her double salchows. All the Park City kids were there watching. We went home and rested and went to Atkinson’s to get pork chops for dinner and Darlin’s flowers and to look for a sweatshirt. We got one at Benetton’s for Steph to paint. We skated from 9:00 – 10:00 and came home. Love,

This morning I woke up exhausted because I couldn’t sleep all night, thinking about today and what we found out last night. We found out that there’s an initial round today and if she places in the top 4 she skates tomorrow in the final round. So even if she messed up we hoped she’d place in the top 4 so she could get another chance. We didn’t tell her that though. We had baked potatoes for breakfast and then got ready in my yellow skirt outfit and we were on our way. I gave Darlin a good luck frame. She had practice at 1:00-1:45 and Stu, Terri, Mom and Steph were coaching her. When she did her axel-double toe, Stu got mad and said take it out and left to help Danielle. We left it in and she skated at 2:30. She was fourth in the skating order because Jenny got sick and withdrew. She fell on her axel-double toe and kind of landed her double salchow. We went to get ice cream and when we came back the results were up and she had taken first place! Love,

Today was the day for the final round and even though she won yesterday, she didn’t skate her best. So today all we wanted was her best! (That’s all!) So we got up early and Mommy was getting more flowers. So I went out on the porch and just as I stepped outside, the sun came up. Oh, it was so beautiful and right then and there I said my morning prayer. When I came inside Mommy was back from getting Darlin’s roses and we fixed potatoes and got ready in my plaid skirt and new top. We got to the rink just in time for Darlin’s practice at 8:45. Sheri and I watched this guy named Derek in his competition and he placed fourth. Dad and Stu were arguing about something and we went home and had lunch. Then Darlin was last in the starting order to skate. Oh, she was so good and landed her opening double toe and double salchow. She won!!! Then we got ready and went to the Sun Valley summer ice show outside under the stars, it was great and we had lots of fun! Love,

This morning we slept in and had oatmeal for breakfast. Then I got ready in my pink and white top and shorts. Then we watched the video of Darlin skating yesterday. She was even better than we remembered. Then we went to the lodge and rented two bicycles for two and Darlin got a 10-speed and we rode all over for an hour and had lot’s of fun. Then we got ice cream before we went to our job as tape monitor from 1-4. The lady named Marilyn asked us when Darlin was registering if we could help out and Dad said we could so we did! All we did was check-in tapes, put them in order, and answer the phone. Sheri’s Derek day didn’t quite work out but she did get to see him when he walked in without a shirt on! Then we watched the Improvisational competition and ate dinner and went swimming. Love,

This morning we got up and had oatmeal and everything we had left for breakfast. I got ready in my red dress and we packed out and cleaned up everything. Then we went skating for the last time (boo-hoo!) at 2:15. The ice was so washboardie and wet and it was so hot, but we still skated because it was our last day here and we still had a lot of fun. I even did waltz 3, waltz jump, axel. Then we said goodbye to everyone and came home packed out and looked at the apartment that we might rent next summer. Oh, that would be SO much fun! We gave our shirts to Steph and said thanks for everything and goodbye to her. We ate in Burley and sang all the way home (except for when we had our big fight!) Then we got home at 12:00 a.m. unpacked the car and went to sleep. Love,
